THERE is no LADY ~ Pure as She for Me
Of all the LADIES living in UK
We harmonise our lives each day
SNOW LADY ever with Me will stay !
Some Ladies come ~ some Ladies go
There is no LADY ~ Wise as She for Me
Some are Fast and some are Slow
SNOW LADY ~ ~ She's the one for Me !
One day you fall in Love forever
SNOW GIRL is beautiful and clever
There is no LADY ~ Perfect She for Me
Nothing ~ our Bond of Love can sever !
Were I to search the whole World through
The USA from Sea to Shining Sea
I'll never find SNOW LADY ~ Cool as You
There is no LADY ~ so Precious as She !

Snow is quite a different SUBJECT ! We had NONE last year ! We have had six inches of lying SNOW since TUESDAY and there is no sign of it thawing until Monday ~ Schools are all closed ~ Rail & Bus services are affected and the roads are at a standstill ! Children Love it the 20 ~ 50's tolerate it ~ Seniors are housebound and their only enjoyment is the Winter Wonderland of Rural Views ! Our climate is becoming more like mid and northern States of the USA ~ Hotter Summers and (to compensate) Colder Winters Blame it on the rise in CO2 levels now over 400 ppm ~ was 250 ppm before the Industrial Revolution ! THANKS CHRIS ~ Pleased you liked it ~ Angela laughed when I showed her the "draft" but she loved it and said it was how she felt about me ! She liked the structure because she felt the repeated line gave each verse cohesion ! She did ADVANCED STUDY (A - LEVEL) in English and knows a lot about Poetry ~ she often proof reads mine and makes suggestions ! I am not too familiar with Flow line poetry, but this piece inspired me to try to create one of my own.
Thanks IVORY ~ Pleased you liked it ~ she really is a Lovely Lady and works as Physiotherapist in the Local Hospital ! Repetition is important in poetry ~ to reinforce a Title or a Theme ! Sometimes they are called "Floating Line Poems" Vilanelles are a more complicated example where repeated lines oscillate. The simple form I have used with Four verses each with Four lines is the simplest example ~ please try one ! A lot of us use classical forms like HAIKU (about nature / seasons 5 7 5 syllable pattern in English) and SENRYU ~ same form but about People or non~nature / season topics. Both can be extended to TANKAS (5 7 5 7 7) ~ other forms are SONNETS & LIMERICKS etc. MPS can give us a good education in Poetry ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)
