They explore new areas,
Where civilisations once lived,
And find wondrous works,
Works of art from so long ago.
They could be carvings stone,
Images painted in caves,
And for millennia
They have been there,
Showing that art is timeless,
Showing us that they were there
Creating beauty from their lives.
It shows those of us today
Who think about these things,
And appreciated what we see,
That all Civilisation wants,
Is the Conquest of Time.

- Comment from author about the poem: I watched a programme called Civilisations which was the first one exploring Art through history, I was absolutely enthralled. The painting is from Spain and was thought to be done about 37,000 bce.

Thank you Lorna, I have looked at that site and it is very interesting. Another statement that was made in the programme was that Homo sapiens is the animal of art.
What TIME is it now? A quarter-to-Spring? Hope so!
Masterful Andy.
