Ocean

Ivory

Waves
Crashing against my skin, tasting of chilled brine
My heart billows deep, beating over the raging currents
As the constant flux of tides carries me into the offing
I strain to see the shore
Wading in waters, created by my tears
I look for you in the distance
All I see is endless ocean
I’m left alone, and can not swim

WELCOME IVORY (nice name !) Thanks for your first Poem ! Most of US have fallen IN & OUT of Love several times ~ so we can empathise ! Love the metaphor you use ~ very powerful ! I have drowned in an Ocean of "Love's endless Tears" following a break up ! I think Men recover quicker than Ladies ~ but it's just as painful ~ I'm in a good relationship now (read my Poems) ! Thinking of you ~ Yours BRIAN.
