IMPRINTED.

Fay Slimm.

IMPRINTED.

Home is an image seared to the soul,
natal-tied this attachment to each its own.

Bent grass or heather a fledgling's place,
under-sea caverns fish hatchlings embrace.

Burrows and dens in wind sheltered rocks
aid parents nurse rabbit, mole, badger or fox.

Nests of impressions cleave to each mind
as all kids of chicks breathe air the first time.

Scribed in humankind's beating heart
is home where eyes meet love at life's start.

Anything other will colour and stick
to impede the future of weakened offspring.

Care is soul-needed as nature shows
for indelibly imprinted is the image of home.

A brilliant write, my dear Fay!
“Home is where the heart is...”
We find ourselves saying those words often. You’ve given them an ultra special meaning with this beautiful poem!

AMEN TO THAT FAY ~ For me "Home is where the Family is !" Currently I live in a FLAT ~ not a HOME ~ but my PARENTS live close so I go for lunch every Sunday (nobody cooks like your MUM !) and play with the CATS and enjoy the GARDEN and talk FOOTBALL with DAD we both still support EVERTON FC not LIVERPOOL ! Rhyming couplets are my favorite and yours (like You !) are PERFECT ! Love all the nature references ! A great "Image of Home !" Your faithful follower ~ BRIAN ! Please check my CHAMELEONS !

A very beautiful poem. It's definitely one of my favorites. It's wonderful to be imprinted as we.
