The Metropolitan Line

FineB

Ramblers gather at Amersham, Chilterns bound,

The baby sleeps peacefully at Harrow-on the Hill, without a sound.

Beyoncé fans dance outside Wembley Park after a fantastic, spectacular show,

At Finchley Road, the homeless person shivers endlessly in the snow.

Adoring fans congregate at the Barbican to see Mr Cumberbatch on stage,

The jilted girlfriend at Liverpool Street manages to control her rage.

The train grinds to a sudden halt at Aldgate,

The American woman describes the Metropolitan Line as first rate.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I am back on the London Underground! The Metropolitan line runs through Wembley where I live and the end of the line is the gateway to the stunning Chilterns countryside. As a rambler I walk through the Chilterns a lot with my walking group. Here are my thoughts on the Metropolitan line. Easter is upon us this week in the UK. Happy Easter to you all. FineB

A fine write Fine. I hardly seem to use that line. I stay more central usually.

      Hi Orchidee,

      Glad you enjoyed my poem.

Strange that you mentioned the Central line I travelled all the way on the Central Line to Theydon Bois, (the line up to Epping) for a walk in the Essex countryside last weekend.
