Tune: Easter Hymn
('Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!')
'Alleluia!' after every line.
**********
Earthquake! Risen from the tomb
In each heart make for Him room
Stone rolled away, tomb empty
Christ living, for all to see
Easter message unto all
Who will hear His gracious call
Salvation through Christ the Son
He redemption's work has done
Eggs containing chicks do hatch
Chocolate yummies, they do match
They do show forth here life new
Bunnies, fertility too!
Bright bonnets display colours
To season's light each refers
Feast and fun and merriment
True joys the Lord has us sent
Christ, vicarious He be
Our substitutionary
The atonement has He made
For sins of the world has paid
Love and light and life here be
For all folk and ages, He
The Saviour, now Lord on high
Ever nevermore to die
Yet not remote, comes to dwell
By His Spirit, we may tell
In our hearts, new covenant
[The] Father through Christ has Him sent
---------
I shall not here add water!
To your whisky, but concur
To raise undiluted fare
At such great feast, all may share
Bring me sherry, not too much
I shall only swoon if such
Porkie pies and slice of cake
Pot of tea, content I take!

THANKS STEVE ~ A REAL CLASSIC for EASTER SUNDAY Morning ! We shall be singing that later (8:30 am at the Moment and the Sun is shining !)
Loved your poem for today It brings in all the symbols ! Eggs ~ Chicks ~ Bunnies and even Pork Pies ~ Cake & Pot of Leaf Tea and a wee dram ! Easter is all around and the Real Fools on April the 1st are those who don't believe in the RESURRECTION (correct spello !) Every Blessing for today & Always ~ Angela & Brian !
Thanks Brian. Include those last two verses when ya sing it - the most important ones - not! lol. I made me self swoon with the bunnies verse!
Eek, some won't like the thought of 'fools'. Know what you mean though. My concordance says it means 'those wickedly blind', those who continue to refuse to believe.
Loved the singing and words - a fine Easter write my friend.
Thanks Fay.
I am so glad there is no whisky watering today.
Good write Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
