Music Waiting Under the Snow

Lorna

Allium I'm waiting

Salvia you're delaying

Lilies you're trying

Hyssop still lying

Daisies you're lazy

All of you wake now

Start growing

Feed us the music in your souls

Sing to us as well as show

The colors that you know

I'll wait to hear

I'll wait here

  • Comment from author about the poem: Picture is of part of my garden at back of house - later spring - much yet to show itself - this is last year's picture as we haven't even gotten this far as of now. The music is an amazing video of music that plants make when they are "hooked up" somehow to something or other (aren't I precise) and the man who accompanies them..... very beautiful and relaxing......... I love one of the comments under the video: "now I'll never want to eat them again"............

Super write Lorna, your garden is awakening.

The music is quite enthralling - it could have been written by Max Richter - have a listen to "From Sleep" by Max Richter.

I have just looked at the video on how the sound (music) is accomplished from the plants and it is quite phenomenal.

I'll definitely have a listen! Yes there is a much more intelligent explanation for the music than "hooked up to something somehow"....... it's techie speak. Can I call you Goldie?

      • Goldfinch60

Lorna, you can call me Goldie by all means or by my real name which is Andy.

        • Lorna

          Better yet! Andy it is...........

I went looking for From Sleep and find on Youtube many parts to "Sleep" by MR. I see it is an 8 hour piece! Will play during the day when I'm inside writing or doing boring chores.

            • Goldfinch60

The actual piece of music is called 'Sleep' and is eight hours long - I have just bought a copy of that but there is an album called "From Sleep" which is excerpts from the full work. I do warn you though you may not do your chores because it means what it says - sleep. It is an eight hour lullaby.

              • Lorna

From the little I heard it is lovely and a bit sad! And you're right - I can't sleep right now so maybe should be playing it and see what happens!

I have only recently discovered Max Bruch and his work certainly means a great deal to me. About twenty years ago I would never have listened to "rubbish like this!" - as I have said music always surprises me.

You seeing all them plants yet, as described in this fine write? They under a blanket of snow? And why can't snow be warm? heehee.

                  • Lorna

That's just it! I'm NOT seeing them...... we had more snow yesterday but it came as close to warm snow as I've ever seen - I think it will melt fast! I AM SICK TO DEATH of snow....... but I'll love it again next December. Can't imagine living in a climate that is always the same..... what would we complain about! I love that the UK is waking up! I can't sleep right now so it would make more sense if I was there than here............

A lovely write and I nearly missed it - and the thought of the beauty yet to reveal itself.

                    • Lorna

                      If ever this year!

It's on its way - it's arrived here - said he rubbing it in 🙂 🙂
