Shepherd Sureties

Tune: Pastor Pastorum

('Faithful Shepherd, feed me')

John 21 v.15-17

********

Christ did speak to Peter

Did with him confer

Saying, 'Do you love me

Sure and constantly?'

Peter said, 'Yes, Lord you

Know I love, I do'

'Feed my lambs', His reply

He ne'er more to die

'Peter, do you love me?'

Second time said, see

'Yes, Lord, you know I do'

Peter replied too

Jesus said, 'Feed my sheep

Love them and them keep'

Then third time Jesus said

He who rose from dead

'Peter, do you love me?'

Peter he grieved be

Replied, 'Lord you know all

I have heard your call'

'You know that I love you'

Jesus said then, true

'Feed my sheep', you restored

Though denied me, [I your] Lord

I agree with Mr. Edwards. Keep spreading the gospel, teaching the word, and taking care of our brothers and sisters in Christ.

The power of our Lord to forgive even though Peter denied him wben he needed him the most our Lord still forgave him.

Thanks Fine. In one of the gospels Peter says 'I will not deny you, even if I die with you'. Then it says 'Likewise said they all'.
