The Warp and the Weft

Lorna

The wind shifts in the loom of the sky

Propelled back and forth the pick flies

The past present and future

One warp thread

One weft thread

Repeated

Until we poor weavers have completed the cloth

There is no unpicking of time

The finished work stands when we fall

Our lives defined in woven lines

Well said and profound. Love it. I can see that as the beginning of a truly epic story.

You take it from here Eugene!

Time, a favorite subject among all poets. And an especially favorite of this accidental poet. Great write, quote and song choice.

          Lorna,
You’ve beautifully woven this piece of writing! It will withstand till the end of time! Awesome...I like it a lot! I agree with AP...a great write, quote, and song choice!

Thank you Laura........little Cyndi has certainly grown up! Remember her when her hair stood on end and she was all colors of the rainbow! It was a hard choice - the older or younger version? Now she sings this with great emotion since she probably knows more about loss........

Yes, I remember the girl from Astoria, Queens! She’s something else! I loved her then and I love her now! Have you seen Kinky Boots? Her music for this play is phenomenal!

              • Lorna

Oh I love Kinky Boots! I only saw the movie but just loved - so much fun. Didn't know she wrote the music - makes me want to see it again.....

A fine write Lorna. You warping or wefting just now?!

                • Lorna

I'm huffing and puffing....... stuck my nose outside to see if it had warmed up enough to go out and rake but I'll wait a few more hours.........

                • Fay Slimm.

A gem of a read about time allotted for weaving what we ourselves turn out to be - - expertly formed and woven Lorna.

                  • Lorna

Happy Sunday Fay - thank you!

                      • Lorna

I've never been stupendous before! Thank you!
