it aint our summer

dusk arising

it aint our summer no more
     but still the sun shines
for you and me it's autumn
golden days are shorter now
but fielding colours all the richer
they say its the most beautiful of seasons

       and now i know why

the rush of spring growth was exciting
     then blazing summer burned away
our energy sapped before we knew it
but here we are, quietly alive,
     enriched by those yesterdays
learning the true value of our lives together

I am kinda glad I found this on the run up to Spring... it gives a little hope during what can be a very deceiving time of year.... N
