CONCEDING.

Fay Slimm.

Conceding.

An ink-toned ebony night captures
sound and takes from stillness quiet rapture.

Emerging now sparkling gem-stars
lend diamond brightness to penetrate dark.

And surging toward me while I lie
powerless God-'shine embraces my mind.

Consciously losing track of time, way
past heaven's far height I fall up into space.

I taste nova's signs while thick black
velvet becomes holed as I digest the galaxy.

Grief could not console me but love's
feel holds divine secrets of assured proof.

One with the cosmos I shall now stop
as conceding to mystery fear has been lost.

Thanks for posting FAY and thanks for your comment which explains why this Poem is out of phase with your recent muses ! When one suffers a sudden loss ~ committing ones feelings to Poetry can be very cathartic ~ and I am sure this one was ! When we suddenly lose someone close ~ time & tide stop and we find ourselves in "griefs limbo". This feeling ~ which I share (accidental death of a Brother @ 16) is perfectly expressed in your requiem ! Thanks for caring & sharing ~ Love the visual ~ Yours as always BRIAN

A fine write Fay. Mmm velvety galaxy chocolate! Erm, not quite the theme of this poem, Orchi. lol.

I can see why it was requested - fine work Fay.

Your last stanza is wonderful Fay (as is the rest) - but that reminded me that when someone dies we mourn but also feel fear about our own death....so "conceding to mystery fear has been lost" is a gift we hopefully come to.

Repost are great and bring work to some that may have missed its first appearance. Coping with grief can be difficult and I myself find poetry to be a good tool to help. Thanks for giving us another look.
