Tune: Hanover
('O worship the King')
1 Peter 1 v.7-9
*******
Genuine faith, it be more precious see
Than treasures of gold-store shall to us be
It be of great value, surpassing earth's jewels
And strength to go on in Christ's image it fuels
Though tried as with fire, faith comes through the test
With God's power we glorify Him best
It shall be victorious, honour and praise
And glory give to Jesus, thanks shall we raise
Yet not having seen Christ Jesus our Lord
We have joy unspeakable and His word
Not depending on worldly, outward things, we
Have well-spring of joy and of glory, so be
The end of our faith, the outcome it shall
Be not vain, but salvation we know well
Salvation for our souls, redeemed, we set free
And then see Christ, dwell with Him eternally
