I saw a loved one in a dream
in a hospital bed--I wanted to scream!
Surrounded by family galore
I know this person was very sick
Hope my mind was playing tricks
Cause some of the visitors passed on before
What purpose would this serve?
Other than to completely unnerve
Was it a warning and caution I should take?
All I remember is that it was serious
Now I'm thinking I must be delirious
Too much drama out of dreams I make

I do take some nightmares too seriously, think they are foreboding Sth bad to happen but then calm down when things go on as usual. I liked your superb poem, how u expressed your angst so rhyming awesome. Creatively done, I like how u said unnerve, ah that made me smile . Kudos.
Pleez do read my newest poem too and if u wish to add some points, thoughts to it u r welcome to. Or u could read my others. No pressure.
I had a dream of someone who had a birthday recently. Somehow they were telling me they were going to die soon. But then they were driving me somewhere in a car. Don't know if they were dead or alive then!
Our mind can go into over-drive, and we have to 'snap out' of nightmarish dreams, and tell ourselves it was only a bad dream. They are not all true, nor signs of what's about to happen.
Right. Thanks for your kind review, Orchidee!
Those kind of dreams always give a shock when waking and hoping by now you feel a bit more settled Christina - - the rhyming you used is superb and I enjoyed the flow which takes readers between the waking and sleeping..
Yeah it was a shock when I first woke up but also a muse for a poem. Thanks for the compliment on the rhyming! I appreciate it!
Head on pillow, out fast in deep sleep, wake early still in the position I went to sleep in, and rarely can I ever recall dreaming let alone the content of it. Anyway it's a great write Christina.
Thanks for the compliment Michael! I rarely remember my dreams too!
You know me CHRISTINA ~ La Mia Hermana Preciosa ! I can''t just read a serious and subjective Poem and say NICE POEM ~ A POEM with a title like BAD DREAM requires some introspection OK ! We all Dream and Dreams are important in the BIBLE ~ so an analysis is requisit not necromancy ! Our dreams are fashioned by experience & our subconscious so they do reflect our status quo ! Dreaming of INJURY or DEATH is often a warning of an immanent event ~ a forewarning ! The presence of deceased in the Dream reinforces its intensity to make us take notice ! I have had such dreams and they have been incidences and warnings of impending doom ! In essence it prepares the heart & mind for the event and to that extent it softens the blow. However DREAMS and their interpretation is a big subject ~ BUT ~ They should never be ignored ~ OK You are not DELERIOUS ~ Thanks for caring and sharing ! Tu Hermano Precioso ~ BRIAN ~ like Daniel ~ An Interpreter of Dreams !
Well, the person in my dream did not die but was very sick. It was just a troubling dream. Thank you for pointing out so many things that I should take note of. I so much appreciate your in depth analysis of my poem and dream! Tu hermana preciosa~Christina
Dreams can be so confusing. My dreams usually make no sense. But I always seem to want to try to make some sense out of it. Great write Christina.
Thanks so much AP! That makes me feel better too. Maybe it was just a fear dream playing out. But it was so real! Anyway, thanks so much for the read, the compliment and the favorite save!
sometimes dreams tell you something, sometimes it`s just stress or you worrying about some one or something
Thanks Ron for the advice!
We certainly can be unnerved by dreams......... I always think that we are connected in a way that makes us aware of things on an unconscious level so yes, they are worrisome!
Thank you for your thoughtful reply, Lorna! 🙂
