Sleep presents alternative to fill a void
When our ideas have dried
It hungers us once more
For food we tired of the day before
It breaks into manageable pieces our lives
We can put our heads into pillowy sand
And ride camels of the night to foreign lands
It undermines the dawns that over face us
And gives dominion over fears that chase us

Lorna,
Just finished listening to
the lullaby. It is beautiful!
Dr. KS Chithra’s voice,
the music, and the
lyrics(downloaded the translation) are very soothing!
An excellent write...
metaphorically rich!

Thanks Laura........ I loved watching her sing ..... she has a beautiful face....... (this was a lullaby for her baby who died),.........
You’re welcome!
She does have a
beautiful face!
She is a very
special woman!
To be able to do
what she does
is amazing!
no rest for the weary.

I love this write Lorna - the feel of this tribute to sleep soothes as it is being read aloud - an escape indeed from the day's demands. - -great number and singer too.

Pillows of sand riding camels into foreign lands. Love this
So glad you liked this one Noah.... thank you!
Recharging your batteries is a physical and emotional necessity. Even when you don't have a lot of time, just 10 to 15 minutes of sleep can revive you to finish your day. Beautiful write Lorna.
Very tempting to nap sometimes especially in the winter! No napping now! The garden calls..............
