The Tears of Lean On Pete

Lorna

Sitting in the room so dark

I truly think I lost my heart

How could a celluloid movie

Destroy me so, do this to me

How could a boy of such young years

Bring an audience to tears

How could we believe it so

We've carried it with us as we go

This sharing of such poignant pain

The summoned tears

That still remain

  • Comment from author about the poem: This beautiful little gem of a movie - Lean On Pete - won't give you any spoilers except to say as it runs, it will rip the heart right out of you....... Andrew Haigh directed........ Charley Plummer gave such a performance I had to go and watch him being interviewed on Youtube just to be sure he was all right and not the sad young thing in the movie.......

There are some films that can cause all emotions in us for various reasons and there are some that I would not watch again because of the profound effect that they had upon me. Very good write Lorna.

A fine write Lorna. Yes, I made a film of me singing. That moved anyone to tears - tears of agony, that is! heehee.

I do watch a lot of tear jerkers
    that bring me to tears.
    I know their only movies
but I cant help but cry.

    Lorna,
A super write! You’ve piqued my interest. I’ll definitely look into it! I guess I better have a box of tissues ready!
