Self-hood.
One recent evening as light spoke its last
and covered with molten
pink tinted rose-buds blackbird's late song
wrung the still air in passion
from nowhere as cascades of neatly strung
notes coated the gloaming
with soul which struck my heart in passing.
Inspired to listen with intent deafened by
life's ever busyness
I heard crystal clear scales piercingly pure
pervading the quiet
enough for the urge to scribe such beauty
as symphonic self-hood
trilling its bird-song and filling the twilight.
Oh if only I could.

But you do Fay! Every day! Absolutely lovely!
Ah - - bless you dear Lorna - you are such an encouragement - thank you muchly.
Wonderful write, those songs in the late evening are wondrous.
Oh they are Goldi - - they are worth staying outside for when it is dry of course - raining hard here at the moment.
Lovely write Fay.
So glad you enjoyed the read Orchi.
Thanks FAY ~ as you know every Human Being is gifted in one way or another. Sometimes as your poem hints we are too busy and preoccupied to hone or share our gift ! The ANIMAL WORLD has no such inhibitions ~ and they all do what they do do well. Perhaps we have to much choice to achieve SELF-HOOD so we become Jacks of All Trades and Masters of NONE ! Love the SILHOUETTED PICTURE ~ Thanks for CARING ~ Yours BRIAN ~ Please check my POEM ~ Thanks B !
Yes - I agree we are all often too busy to appreciate Self-Hood and can only hope the birds and other creatures can show us the way to discover its peace and pleasure. Thank you Brian for the lovely comment.
My dear Fay,
I agree with Lorna...
you do every single day!
A fine write indeed!
~Laura~
You are so kind dear Laura and I really appreciate your continued support - yes the blackbird who along with all other creatures , knows what Self-Hood means can teach us a thing or two by his singing if only we stand still enough to hear. So pleased you enjoyed the read.
Beautiful piece ms Fay! If I close my eyes I can hear the birds and feel the sunset.
Ah - then the mood of the piece has achieved its aim when we can feel we are there with the scene and the senses - thank you for the perceptive comment SLR
Your words flew through me
Just like the bird
I'm left with a beautiful feeling
Like I'm just thankful to be here
Much appreciated as always
