Tune: Ewing
('Jerusalem the golden')
Hebrews 3 v.5-15
********
Moses truly was faithful
In his house, heard God's call
A witness unto those things
New Covenant would bring
But Christ in His house faithful
His own house, we here tell
We are His house, His people
He Saviour of us all
We His house if we hold fast
Continue to the last
Hold confidence, rejoicing
Of the hope He does bring
So as the Spirit does say
If you will hear today
His voice, harden not your heart
From His words not depart
For in the provocation
Israel's rebellion
They hardened their hearts, tempted
The Lord God who them led
They Him did tempt and did prove
Tested Him, they did move
Through wilderness forty years
Yet not with hearing ears
So the Lord with them was grieved
Though times He them reprieved
Yet said that generation
Erring in heart nation
Were they, and had not His ways
Known, though through many days
He led them, but then did sware
They would be in ill-fare
For they into the Lord's rest
Would not enter, unblest
So they were, and take heed we
Not like unto them be
That there not be in any
An evil heart here see
Of unbelief, which departs
From the living God parts
But do exhort each other
Each sister, each brother
While it still be called 'Today'
Follow on in God's way
Lest any shall be hardened
Struggle to be pardoned
Through deceitfulness of sin
Be humble, pure within
For we are made partakers
Of Christ, He grace confers
If we the beginning hold
Of our confidence told
Steadfast unto the end, so
Today His voice shall know
With hearts open, responsive
Our worship Him we give

Another good write Orchi.
Thanks Gold. I thought the tune was \'Jerusalem\', but it\'s not. That\'s the tune name of the hymn, erm, named....\'Jerusalem\' by William Blake. Good tune, rather eccentric words in places!

Uplifting write Steve! I feel like I should call you Orchi!
Thanks Christina. Ohh yes, call me Steve, Orchi, or whatever. Just don't call me Julie (Andrews) from 'The Sound of Music'. Some do, as I'm often singing. Oh it's mad! lol.
I know someone named Susan - but don't dare call her Sue!
