Another new tree I am planting
Another old one coming down
If acid rain will leave it be
It should be here when I am gone
And many years in the hereafter
Another voice will surely say
I saw a crack in that old tree
I think we'll cut it down today

- Comment from author about the poem: OK - so yesterday morning I was looking at my garden and thinking how nice, everything was in place for the summer - looking good! And then............ 4 tornadoes ripped through my little town yesterday....... trees cracked, snapped and down all over the roads, properties, driveways, some on houses......... No power probably for a week or more. Goodness knows how they will clean this up...... My little house is ok..... about 7 trees down ........ this too shall pass............... am at sister's or my computer obviously wouldn't be working........... Gaia is very very mad at us and I think this will only get worse....... I am never going to plant "large" trees again.... only small flowering ones........ Emoji HAVE A NICE DAY!!! RIP My poor trees.......

Of all things in nature, my dad’s favorite were trees! His wish was to be buried beside a tree! He got his wish! His gravesite is right by a tree!

Love the Poem and it reminds us that all trees (even redwoods ~ we have same in our Town !) are living creatures and part of the web of life ! Therefor they (like us) can't live for ever ~ some of the oldest things on Earth are Trees ! Such an awful situation Lorna, I am so glad that you are OK and your house is safe. Nature at it's rawest is so powerful.
