Blades

Christina8

Cuts herself with razor blades

to make up for mistakes made

Have enough of those in spades

The truth bleeds red

The anger and suffering now can be seen

An anguished soul feels quite clean

Don't judge if you haven't been

You don't know what's in her head

Now the pain is replaced by tears

You'd think the pain would really sear

Not when it's self-intentional dear

Instead of calling me, she bled

So many people do not seek friends who can help them.

        • Christina8

No and for so many reasons we do not know. Thanks for the read, Andy!

It makes me shudder this. I've heard a couple of stores about it. On a lighter note: I wish people would only use razor blades for shaving! Some seem to WANT to self-harm - is that a cry for help in itself?

          • Christina8

I think for some people it is a cry for help and for others they are just hurting. I don't know. Thanks for your reply, Orchi!

Thanks for sharing CHRIS ~ a very poignant poem for SUNDAY ~ You know as well as I do that "LIFE IS IN THE BLOOD" and those who SELF HARM are making a simple statement "My Life is worthless" Several of our students "self-harm" and we need to understand WHY ? to enable us to counsel them. It is cathartic and that is why they do it ! The loss of blood is generally minimal (unless it is attempted suicide and not just a "Cri de Coeur" but as a hygienist I am more concerned about infection ~ as you must be ! We must not be shocked or condemnatory but supportive and provide not only TCP (trichlorophenol) but also TLC ~ Amen ! Thanks for caring & sharing ! Once a NURSE always a NURSE ~ Yours BRIAN ~ please check SUMMER HOLIDAYS ~ BRIAN

I find it hard to judge as to why people do it, although I'm sure they do feel worthless for many reasons. I feel badly for those that do it. I appreciate your input on the subject! Yes, these folks needs TLC. Yours~Christina
