GOLDEN MEMORIES ~ JIM REEVES III

BRIAN & ANGELA

WELL this is it ~ that day is here

The day I knew would come ~

When you would leave me dear !

Well here I sit ~ while teardrops fall

And wonder why I care ~

When you don't care at all !

But I'm a fool that way ~

From way back when

A fool who'd have you back ~

If you'd come back again !

But this is it you're gone you're free

You'll find another Love but this is it for me !

Well hear I sit and try to guess

How such an empty room's ~

So full of LONELINESS !

Well even the CLOCK HAS STOPPED

Somehow I guess it knew

That time's run out for me

It's over ~ it's all through !

YES ~ this is it

You're GONE ~ You're FREE

You'll find another LOVE

But THIS IS IT FOR ME !

Thanks for listening ~ comments welcome ~ Love BRIAN XOX

I was stopped in my tracks when I first heard this Song

It was co-written by JIM and it is so so prophetical !

He was walking unrecognised in Wallmart with his Brother

in Law ~ John White six months before he died. He said

"John for a Country Boy ~ I've come a long way and I

don't know what to do next ~ John said ~ Don't worry

Jim ~ God will take care of the future !" Jim had a lovely

speaking voice and the lines ! "Well even the clock has stopped

Somehow I guess it knew ~ That times run out for me ~ It's

over it's over it's all through !"  Very very nostalgic ! I always

finish my Jim Reeves Tributes with this song and an account of

his early demise at the age of 40 ~ 55 years ago !  He could

still be singing Tony Bennett (92) still is. Most of my audiences

are 70+ and there isn't a dry eye in the house at the end !
