Memory's Pearl.
She had eaten
the proof of amour's iridescence,
taken love's juice
and emptied its cup to the dregs.
She, sweetened by
patience the taste of long distance,
wasted no chances
to bake contact's waited-for bread.
She had embraced
given gold of a satisfied closeness,
quenched deepest thirst
so thirsty need invaded no more.
She feasted at table
laden with late-made approaches
and imbibed readily
ripened affection as never before.
She knew once
only close romance of a life-time
therefore memory's
pearl she now wears with a smile.

Yes how lovely! And yes how true!!!
Beautiful write Fay
It is quite the jewel to find ever lasting love. Beautifully pictured in words.
A fine write Fay.
My dear Fay,
An exquisite verse!
You’re an incredible poetess!
This has touched every fiber of my being due to a very personal experience of long ago! (I’ve often called them my missing years.) A once in a lifetime experience!
This quote sums it up
for me...
“She knew only
once close romance of a life-time
therefore memory’s
pearl she now wears with a smile.”
~Laura~
May that smile be everlasting.
