Old maid turkey
Absurd bird
You’ve given up
On being loved
You’ve turned your back
And left the herd
They don’t want you
But you don’t care
You stay quite close
To the feeder where
The seeds fall most
Upon the ground
You’ve been shunned
By all the rest
But found a spot
That’s second best

I loved this. Great write.
I'll tell Gertrude.... thank you!
Super looking garden - hope you're not hungry. Lol Great write too.
She'd be impossibly skinny to eat......... plus she would paddle off wings flapping squawking if I even tried............
She looks like a Gertrude. Then again, I think Ethel would be the second best name for her. Hahaha
I find your piece to be more humorous than nature, but that is my opinion.
Persistence is key
Yes - perception of nature truly depends on whether the sun is shining or not! Gaia is meek and mild right now...............
Oh lol, good write Lorna. Looks a bit like an ostrich!
but in the sunshine..... when you can get close enough...... her wings are an amazing shimmery color........ and you should see the "boys" coming by with their chests puffed up and their feathers spread like peacocks....... sometimes they are parading around like that out there with no females in sight......... they're waiting for me to tell them how beautiful they are...... men.........
Wonderful write to a lone bird.
Happy birthday by the way!!!! (Except your profile says October 6.......?)
Yes my birthday is October 6th, I have noticed this with the site that it puts up wrong birthdays sometimes.
Well then a very merry unbirthday to you..............
