A New book

i-dont-even-know

I am like a new book.
The book with no pages torn,
And no pages bent.
With a glossy, eye-catching cover that draws you in.
The cover, the title, the description that entice you into reading.
But when you finally open it and begin digesting its contents,
You realize how boring it is.
You see the holes in the plot and the awkwardness in the dialogue.
You find the moral of the story doesn't exist.
There is nothing to be taught.
No lesson to learn.
No reason to stick around and keep reading.

It may not reach your expectations but that doesn't matter. It is fresh and imaginative and a pleasure to read. It has a subject about something outside personal emotional experience which is where so many new poets start out - in other words you are not using it as a form of personal therapy. You are writing out of a love for the written word and it shows - do continue to write and the more you do the more you will enjoy it and get drawn in..

A NEW BOOK ~ One of life's great pleasures in the age of E & AUDIO BOOKS ! The pristineness ~ the scent ~ the crispness of the pages ~ the unexplored & unknown contents ~ I am a BIBLIOPHILE so your title intrigued me ! Welcome to MPS and thanks for your first POEM ~ very enjoyable ! TWELVE LINES of REVELATION ! As MICHAEL has already observed it is: Fresh ~ Imaginative ~ a Pleasure ! The first five lines excite my senses and the next seven (a perfect number ?) are fraught with self abnegation ~ it is this that makes the Poem excellent and you interesting ~ we await your next confession ! Thanks for sharing ~ more please ! Yours BRIAN (UK) MPS works by mutual reading & comment ~ Please check my Poems ~ Thanks B !

I loved every minute of it...... and it shows that far from boring, you have lots to say!

About one of my favorite subjects; reading! But what about reading just for enjoyment? That's reason alone for me. It doesn't always have to have a lesson or teach you something. Great post. I love books, old and new! Although the old ones seem to have so much character. Welcome to MPS! Great first post!
