Lord, help me not to strive to try

On feelings full[y] rely

But trust in faith, where I not see

Your hand there visibly

 

Where nothing seems to change or grow

Help me, O Lord, to know

You still are working, your plans good

Shall work out as you would

 

Give strength to persevere and wait

Your time shall not be late

Whate'er our state be, or those who

We pray for, you know true

 

Prosper our lives, send refreshing

From prisons releasing

You who full know humanity

Your Son our Saviour be

 

A world in need, people as sheep

A vale of mourn and weep

Yet too joys, hope, and confidence

When we your presence sense

 

In all I meet each day, Lord bless

You love none more, nor less

But all your creatures you have made

In wisdom all arrayed

          Thanks Lorna. Erm, yes, well, it's said by some in UK 'The church is the Tory Party at prayer!' 'Tory' is another name for 'Conservatives', a political party in the UK.
