BRIDGED.

Fay Slimm.

Bridged.

A small bird on rock-peaks above quick rolling
bubble-veined stream began speaking to me.
Not by known language he piped lovely notes
warbling amid leafy hides voicing with clarity.

With no way to transcribe I leaned nearer into
his mind and caught the right pitch of his tone.
No poetry could describe the cadence through
which interpretation his bird-trill made known.

With melodic outpouring of humble respect for
refreshment he sang even when slaking thirst.
A bird bridged understanding by sweet choral
abundance and fearless give of avian outburst.

I learned the awe needed

as bird-talk that morning

by a dipper on coexistence

my listening ear adorned.

What a lovely quiet moment for us with you and the bird! I love the picture - wonder what kind of bird that is......fishing from land?

      • Fay Slimm.

Lorna the bird I wrote about is a Dipper-bird who stays close to water and has a beautiful way with his singing. My grateful thanks for your lovely comment on an unforgettable quiet closeness with this fearless bird.

Thanks FAY ~ Beautiful Structure (It is in fact a 4 4 4 2 Sonnet) and a Perfect Subject ~ "I talk to the Birds !" To me the implication is that you did communicate through Natures Telepathy rather than human-speak ! For me you communicated your "telepathic conversation" through you moving poem ! Thanks for sharing & caring ~ Yours BRIAN

                • Fay Slimm.

Yes a perfect subject on which to compose a sonnet dear Brian - -- telepathy is certainly a method of communication between nature and listening humanity. Thanks my dear friend for receiving the value of memorable contact I tried to portray.

Super write Fay. Dippers are wonderful birds to be with.

                    • Fay Slimm.

Yes the Dipper has much to hold our attention when we quietly sit by a stream and just watch. Thanks for the comment dear Goldi.

                      Loved this ...
“with no way to transcribe I leaned forward into
