SOME SHORTIES
Heard in siren songs
Seduced in calm seclusion
Lulled into falseness.
As the sun rises
Handfuls of gold are scattered
Waking fields sparkle.
Statues of marble
Silhouetted in the sky
Angels and crosses.

I've missed your work. I hope all is well. Do I miss my guess or are these cyclamin? (I worked part time in a greenhouse but it's been several years ago and my memory of flowers and their names is sketchy at best) They only bloom here in cool weather and it's so nice to see their pop of color when nothing else is green or blooming. Love the "seduced in calm seclusion" . Great line. Good to have you back!
Gee thanks SLR - yes just been away for a few days and off again at the end of the week and then again at the end of next week (with little time for writing or reviewing) so I'll only be posting when I get a chance. Yes they are cyclamen - I love the early garden varieties which pop into bloom in January and February here in the UK.
Three good ones Michael.
Cheers Andy
Fine writes and pic Michael. You 'getting out more?' You 'getting your coat?' You need a coat this season?! I do some days.
I go to remote places where all is silent so I can't hear anyone singing - no coat - just shirt (with long sleeves not warm enough for me yet to wear short sleeves) and trousers (not short trousers - haven't yet succumbed to this sartorial inelegance). Oooh I'm such a pompous snob - and I love it !!
Fantastic water-colour of beautiful cyclamen - - - great shorties too Michael. Have a great break at the end of the week but be back soon - - have missed your work.
Thanks Fay. I am also engaged in discussions with a retailer over cards and prints so this month is proving to be quite mad.
Thanks Michael.
Love the Shorties. Superb write.
Love the pretty plant too.
Keep writing

Thanks FineB
We'll take shorties Michael just keep 'em coming... we're grateful for small mercies
Thanks for this one
Andrew
They'll keep coming - I am so busy at the moment that I don't have time to concentrate on long works. Thanks so much Andrew.
Gotta be really quite hot for me to not have my coat! There are those days and times!
Do you wear anything underneath it Orchi? Like hot pants?
Michael,
Missed you! Hope you had a wonderful Father’s Day!
Love your painting and shorties. They’re “Handfuls of gold”!
~Laura~
Did indeed - just put out the empties - thanks Laura.
