THE DAY THE TOWERS FELL,

IS THE DAY THAT THE WORLDWENT ALL TO HELL.

THE DAY THE TOWERS CRASHED TO THE GROUND,

THEY FELL WITH A DEAFENING SOUND.

THE EAR SPLITTING BOOMS AND THE BILLOWING SMOKE,

THE WHOLE WORLD WAS SILENT AND NOBODY SPOKE.

IT WAS A DEADLY AND FRIGHTENING DAY,

ALL THESE YEARS LATER,I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY.

EXCEPT THT I PRAY THAT IT NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN,

BUT I KNOW THAT IT WILL,AS LONG AS THERE ARE EVIL MEN.

HERE IT IS 9 YEARS LATER AND EVERYTHING SEEMS ALMOST NORMAL,

BUT IT NEVER WILL BE,NOT UNTIL THE RETURN OF JESUS AND HE BRINGS US HOME.ONLY THEN,WILL WE NEVER FEEL SO HELPLESS AND SMALL.

    I remember when that happened. I was in the eighth grade in my second class. I actually caught the second one live on tv. I don't think anyone knew how that would impact our country.
    Your piece was very memorable,
    and reflective.

    Hello Frogspoetry
    I also remember that day as if it was yesterday. What comes to my mind first is the airplanes crashing into the buildings. That day still brings chills to my mind along with the senseless killings of innocent children while they prepare for life at school. We need each other more than we know. I loved this poem but you are one of my favorite poets so far.

    THANKS SISTER MELISSA ~ It is something we must never forget. I flew into CHICAGO on 5th September 2001 ~ with my Parents ~ and we were with Friends in Independence IOWA on 911 ! The first one looked like an accident but the second one and the "Fall of the Twin Towers" convinced us it was an Act of Terrorism ! My parents have a Friend who worked on FLOOR 101 of the North Tower ~ fortunately he was not in his Office on that Fatal Day ! He lives in NEW JERSEY and took us to Ground Zero in 2002 and he was very upset. I have visited the Memorial it is very STARK & POIGNANT and the new single Tower. The GIDEONS INTERNATIONAL were having a Conference in New York and the police allowed them to pray with survivors and the bereaved. A Neighbour of my Parents in Essex (UK) was at the GIDEON CONFERENCE and had visited the top Restaurant on the 8th of September 2001 ~ the Day before. The whole of America Mourned and there was even a poster in TEXAS saying "PRAY FOR NEW YORK" Americans felt that the whole of America had been violated as never before and they prayed & repented everywhere as never before. We still need to pray for AMERICA 24/7 ~ Thanks for caring & sharing ~ Your Spiritual Brother ~ BRIAN

    On that day I was working in an office where the 'phones constantly rang. That afternoon, in the UK, when this happened no 'phone rang!
