I AM A PHYSIOTHERAPIST ~ ANGELA

BRIAN & ANGELA

I'M A PHYSIOTHERAPIST

I work within the Health Service

I'm currently working in New Zealand

On a twelve month Working Exchange.

Our function is to improve the

Mobility of all our clients.

Through Exercise, Electrotherapy

Hydrotherapy and Massage.

The importance of Exercise, and

Mobility has always been recognised

In POST-OPERATIVE treatment and care.

Also Zimmers, arm crutches and walking sticks.

PHYSIOTHERAPY was established

As an integral part of Medical Practice

In Sweden (1813) The UK (1894)

New Zealand (1913) and the USA (1914)

It is now universally available

And is important in THE WORLD OF SPORT!

Please comment if you wish ~ Thank You ~ ANGELA

I'VE CHOSEN "CHARIOTS OF FIRE" as my Music

because it exemplifies the supreme effort our

Olympic Athletes (and our Footballers!) devote to

achive Maximum Fitness and Performance. ABRAHAMS

ran for His Country ERIC LIDDELL ran for His GOD!

Please revisit  the FILM ~ it could change your LIFE!

The picture I have chosen is of a Physiotherapist

working with a Young Amputee. Many Young Soldiers

lose a LIMB during conflict and their rehabilitation

is vital. We play a big part ~ not just Physically but

also Psychologically in getting them "Back on their

Feet" again. PRINCE HARRY is a great inspiration

Worldwide with the INVICTUS GAMES and MEGHAN

is likeminded and a great support. They are very grateful

for the major part played by Physiotherapists !  ANGELA

A fine write and commendable profession Angela. A bit of pain at times, so to make progress?!

    • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks STEVE It's 7pm here in Auckland NZ, tempus fugit. Some people call us PHYSIOTERRORISTS because (as you must know) all exercise is painful. Especially after you've just had a joint replacement. My experience tells me exercise and a bit of pain is essential for rehabilitation. I'm glad I'm not a DENTIST they really do hurt ! You know our MANTRA "NO PAIN - NO GAIN" LOVE ANGELA

I agree no pain, no gain. Thanks to Angelia for helping others to get over the hurdle of an injury. Great proffession.

THANKS HEART ~ We have to be cruel to be kind (a bit like Dentists!) In the UK because People are living longer Female Life expectancy 86, Male 83, Joint replacements are becoming routine. It is acknowledged that we play a big part in recovery and restored mobility! The same is true in respect of recovery from "injury". Thanks for your encouraging comment, Love ANGELA

A great Medical place to be, Joyce was a Physio Receptionist for 35 years and Physios, who I got to know, were/are wonderful people.

Thank you ANDY ~ Your comment made me smile ! Your Wife must be a wonderful Lady. Our clients are often fearful of what Physio will entail, so we employ Ladies with lots of TLC as Receptionists! They calm our Clients fears and assure them that we are really Pussy Cats ~ which we are. Pleased the Physios you have met were a credit to Our Profession. We need to be qualified and to have excellent interpersonal skills and lots of TLC. Because I am a Committed Christian the Fruits of the Spirit, Love, Joy, Peace etc are the ideal traits for a Physio! Thanks for your comment, Love to You & Joyce ANGELA.

Thanks, Angela, for doing what you do! And also sharing your work with us. You have picked a profession that is so rewarding. Sending a hug your way---Christina

THANK YOU CHRISTINA ~ For your comments and your support for my Branch of the Health Service. In the UK we work very closely with the Nurses who with their TLC have enabled patients to begin to regain their mobility ready for our Programme. It amuses me because the Nurses tell us some patients are real scared of Physios! I\'m glad my Branch of Medicine is hands on because I like the Client / Practitioner interaction. Ruth\'s work is more technological with X-rays and Radiation, she is more introspective than me so it suits her. In the UK the Servicemen Amputees are the most challenging because they have gone from 100% fitness to Invalids and many of them (and their Wives) can\'t cope ~ Children seem to understand better what has happened to their Daddy. There are Gideon New Testaments on all the Wards and they have welcomed my offer to Pray for Them and with Them. We do have Chaplains in all our UK Hospitals. Most of my clients in NZ are Joint Replacement Patients and injuries from Falls & Normal & Extreme Sports. It\'s 8 in the morning (Thursday) here so I must be off to work soon ! Nice to talk ~ Love ANGELA

What a rewarding profession to be in Angela where people who need that bit extra support get the benefit of your special care. Wishing you every success in New Zealand on work exchange.
