Coffee Rapper.

Goldfinch60

Into the Coffee House we went,

Sat my loved one at the table,

I went to get the coffee.

The young man served me

With his usual smile and politeness,

As we chatted he asked about my day,

I said that I was doing poetry in the afternoon,

I write poetry he said,

And it is on the computer.

I asked for the details.

I found his site

Rapping at me,

His voice with a beat

So great to see.

He danced and he sang

With kind words of love,

Of love for the child

That came from above.

He sang and he danced

Bringing joy to my mind.

His words and his song

So wonderfully kind.

His ended his rap

With a smile very wide.

Almost as wide

As the one in my mind.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I was chatting to man who was serving our in our favourite coffee house and he said that he wrote poetry as well. I wrote this poem for him and the YouTube link is him. I think it is very good. (You can rap the last two stanzas of my poem)

A fine write and clip Gold. I'm gonna rap then!
Meanwhile - some get served with the usual scowl and grunt, and never a please or thank you. Well, maybe not, as we would not keep going to such places!
You having fun in those supermarkets still?!

    • Goldfinch60

      Thanks Orchi.

Nothing new to report from the supermarkets - yet.

              Andy,

Rap is not one of my favorite genres. However, tell your coffee server that this one was great! An infectious tap as I was listening! His daughter is adorable!
              Thank you for the share!

Enjoy your morning coffee with Joyce! ☕️☕️

Thanks ~ This was a surprise ~ ANDY RAPPING ! Rappers of course are essentially (like me) Performance Poets ~ but unlike me they have a very stacato style ~ mine is more emphasised and slow. I guess PHIL HARRIS (Woodman spare that Tree ~ For ME !) was a Rapper or talking Blues ! Thanks for sharing ~ loved the VIDEO ~ Yours BRIAN

Thanks Brian. Rapping is the music of the people as was opera back in the day until the hierarchy took it over.
