Tune: Dove of Peace
('I come with joy to meet my Lord')
******
O Lord, see here, my thankful heart
But forgive any part
Where I unthankful, selfish be
Thinking only of me
Your works shown in your creation
Displayed to each nation
In sky and sea and earth they found
And too be underground
Fro there [is] no place you do not see
All open to you be
And we your creatures, care-takers
In this each human shares
Grant us grace to serve you truly
Needy in the world see
People and plants and animals
You came to save all souls
Forgive where proud or boastful we
Do not your good hand see
But lowly servants, true our state
Serving you the Lord great
Yet sinners saved and loved and blessed
May share your holiness
Your sons and daughters you us make
Us for you self you take
So not to live in vanity
Or unprofitably
But each word and deed done through you
Has real value anew

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8686 metre. I'm 'thinking only of meself' in singing. It don't occur to me what torture I inflict on others. It's very cruel of me! heehee.
