Tune: Franconia
('Blest are the pure in heart')
Psalm 131
*********
LORD, my heart not haughty
Nor my eyes lofty be
Neither do I exercise me
In things that too high be
Surely I have behaved
Humble, my soul not craved
Great things too wonderful to know
But simple things and low
I myself have quieted
You with your peace me led
As a child weaned of its mother
I am a meek brother (/sister)
So let Israel hope here
In the LORD, He be near
Hope from henceforth and evermore
In Him, your comfort sure

Good one Orchi.
No Church for me today the road to the Church is closed for a fair and Joyce cannot walk down there, and I might not get back pushing her in her wheelchair. Not that i matters too much we don't understand our Minister anyway!
Thanks Gold. Doh! when will ya be understanding him?!
Thanks STEVE ~ for another fave Hymn of mine ~ we often sang it in School Assembly ~ I think they were trying to tell us something ! Love PSALM 131 it is iconoclastic ! LORD my heart is not haughty (or naughty !) nor mine eyes lofty ~ neither do I exercise myself in great matters (especially Brexit) or in things too high for me (except in my case Biochemistry !)
