THE LORD'S PRAYER IN MAORI - FROM ANGELA

BRIAN & ANGELA

OUR PARENT in the Spirit World

SACRED is Your Name

Bring us your Chiefly Rules

May it happen in the way that is to You : GOOD

May it happen on EARTH

In the same way as in The Spirit World !

Give us now

The FOOD we need this DAY

Strip us of our SINS

Give us back what we have lost

So the we the Slaves of Sin : may be with You again

Do not lead us into TEMPTATION

May we be WHOLE : away from things EVIL

Through your CHIEFLY Position is .......

The POWER

And the GLORY

Forever and ever

AMEN

Thank you : please comment : Love to All ANGELA

  • Comment from author about the poem: NEW ZEALAND is a very Beautiful and Blessed Country. It is the same size as the UK but with only 7% (4 million) of the UK Population (over 60 million) so there is always plenty of space : outside the Cities. BRIAN had told me I would love the Maoris : especially their singing and dancing. And I do : the Maori Culture has been my most precious experience during the fist Month. They embrace NATURE and are a very Spiritual People so they embraced Christianity with its emphasis on the Great Chief a Creator GOD who lives in the SPIRIT WORLD. These two concepts are encapsulated in the MAORI version of the LORDS PRAYER which is sung in many Churches in the North Island. the video is very moving and always makes me cry : for JOY - Enjoy AMEN XXXX

THANKS ANDY ~ The Maoris are a very Spiritual People an their sincere belief in the Spirit World and their respect for Nature all fits neatly into Christianity where HEAVEN is the SPIRIT WORLD and they WORSHIP their (and our) CREATOR GOD. I love this translation of the Maori Lord's Prayer. The singing is beautiful and like the Welsh ~ all Maoris can sing in harmony ! Pleased you enjoyed it ~ Love ANGELA

That is very beautiful Angela.wish I was there it sounds like an awesome experience.maybe someday, when my daughter gets older, she's only 7 ,but acts like she's already a teenager, sass and all.
Enjoy your experience to its fullest. Love always Melissa

Thanks SISTER MELISSA ~ Maori Music is always very haunting and it reaches right to your SOUL. I love this version & setting. The ENGLISH translation is very spiritual and simplistic and reaches ones heart! NZ is a long way from everywhere and expensive : but everybody should come at least once in their lifetime. Fourteen would be a great age to bring your Daughter. Old enough to appreciate : Young enough to never forget! Love to both of you ANGELA XXXX
