A Backyard Time

A Backyard Time

There is a spacious backyard

With a grill cooking there

Where relaxing in the shade

We recline in green lawn chairs

It is a place in the world

Where wind chimes softly play

With little boys and girls

And pool toys to inflate

Friends also visit

And get caught up with each other

With a beer to relax

As we converse with one another

The grass is freshly mowed

Where we play some catch

With plastic balls and frisbees

And giant baseball bats

In the evening there are stars

That we gaze upon

With fireflies near and far

Blinking on the lawn

And the moon slowly rises

In the evening clear

And we talk of sports and work

And family most dear
