Quite Dear To Me.

kevin browne

He took her out to fancy dinners
and shouted out a lie or two.
She stared across the table
and caught me staring too.
He stood up and I was unable.
But, I managed to sit down beside her
when she asked me "how'd you do"?

I said "let's go take a walk outside"
underneath a moonlit night.
We started kissing and a cuddling,
our love was shining bright.
Tender and affection in heart,
we revealed ourselves with pride
we loved us from the start.

She loved and she inspired beauty,
spending nights together dreaming
of all our prayers and Gods meaning.
An insight so supreme thinking deep,
she taught me well, she's mine to keep.
We built our moments, we sailed the sea
Rosie, a woman now quite dear to me.

Our lives, in turn, are prosperous indeed
for money has nothing in comparison for
a beautiful garden full of Willow trees.
Therein our home fragrances of life flourish
to choose what we do and to never let go of.
An experience developing into something real,
where blossoming hopes magically feel.

There were times of pure paradise
lost in love blissfully, oh, how beautiful
when God looked down and gave some advice.
We took up his offer and promised to pray,
he will protect and love us along our way.
Oh Rosie, with black hair and blue eyes,
she radiates my desire, she's never shy.

A work of art from a fine degree,
a figurine polished daily.
A sparkle of life guaranteed,
like a hand cut diamond is she.
She wakes up early to open her heart,
flies high in the sky to wake up the world,
to show off her shine now that she's healed.

Deeper in trust from what I can gather,
I touch her heart with a tear of joy.
And, as the years have flown and gone
we look back and put right our wrongs.
The secrecy is this, remember her kiss,
and when things start spiralling outwards
then find the path which leads her forwards.

I have thanked the Lord since I started,
I took my love and tried hard to hide it,
but, my spiritual partner, my Rosie girl,
held us together like two hands should be.
We learnt a lot, you know, through life,
we taught the whole world how to give love.
We sat down together under a moonlit night
as we both winked at the Lord above.

hi kevin .. i love this poem.. so good how you have a book out!

i like how you mentioned the moonlight and your love shining bright comparing the strength of your love the the shining moon

this flows very well and its almost like you are telling a story within your poem, like a narrative
