Tune: Taize Chant
('O Lord, hear my prayer')
Adapted with permission from an MPS poet
********
Lord, watch over me
As good Shepherd, see
Your sheep, each one keep free
Come now, light my heart
A flame, every part
Your gifts, graces impart
So may your warmth seep
Into my life deep
Exuberantly leap
Throughout my body
Let love stem, flow, be
Richly, eternally
Love not sole for self
But too others wealth
And their life and good health
[I] Place my hand in yours
Your love it assures
You guide me, bring heart's-cures
Through this life you give
Your breath, makes me live
Complete, not leaking sieve
And this I Lord know
Your presence you show
Will not leave me, not go
And when time of call
Comes to me, to all
I know I shall not fall
For my soul is yours
My heart you adores
Take it, my prayer implores

Good write. Our Church Choir sing this Taize Chant fairly regularly.
Thanks Gold. We have to realise Taize is repetitive, or else it may drive us mad - over and over and over again!
And over again but they do work. I have been to singing workshops where we sing this type of music and it becomes so meaningful and so emotive.
I know what you mean Gold. I did not like Taize songs at first. I thought: Ahh, when will they get to the next verse? And there was not a 'next verse'!
So beautiful. He can give the uplifting to needing ears!
Thanks Heart.
