Cheaters

Linz0r

I took him to the park.

By the people of the night,

we walked.

Hands enclasped.

Frightened and unsure,

Of all the things about to be.

In some way, he was not

safe.

A dark and brooding outdoor

place;

And inside? Just the same.

A wrongful lust.

A deathly passion.

Another dose of something bad.

Hidden in plain sight,

United in our splendour,

Not one single fuck was given.

Desire unleashed it's pointed

head,
And soon the park engulfed

us both.

Senses entwined,

With each and every pace of breath,

And whimper of delight;

We gave into the darkness.

A dishevelled mess we

had become.

With twigs and damp and

fluid 'shame'.

But that we did not feel

at all.

An awkward joy,

spread on both faces,

Hand in hand again we go.

As if it was something

quite real.

But of course;

Should never be.

  • Comment from author about the poem: The first in a small series about an affair I had with a married man. I went through a painful breakup and writing these poems were a type of catharsis, which helped me deal with the reality going on around me, as well as unfortuntely immersing me in the hardships even more. I'm in a much better place now and feel they are an important part of what happened to me at one point in my life.

  • BRIAN & ANGELA

    WELCOME LINZ ~ Thanks for a very frank and confessional first Poem ! We are all Human and we all do things we later regret ~ though we don't all have the courage to write about them. BUT ~ when we do it is cathartic and it helps us to move on OK ! I'm 35 (engaged but never married yet) but extramarital affairs are so so common ~ but always seem to end in pain & hardship. Glasgow is a great City (I was born in Liverpool) and in Cities life's experiences are always more poignant. Pleased you are now on Higher Ground ~ every Blessing ~ Yours BRIAN Please check my POEMS ~ MPS works by reading & commenting on each others Poems. I share my SITE with my Fiancee ANGELA who is in New Zealand on a "work experience" Year. She has written today's Poem. If you have any Q's about MPS please ask !

      Thank you Brian. I find it easier to be frank in a poetic fashion, if that makes sense? Although in life, I suppose I can be a little too honest sometimes as well, ha. Look forward to reading yours and Angela's work.
