Your repetition of \"There once was a (great) man I knew ~ leaves us in no doubt that this poem is about a Special Man who is dear to your heart ! God is good and if our own Parents disappoint He often provides us with a lovely Father (or Mother) in law to compensate. This is the essence of your story. Your poem tells us that he had all the attributes of a Perfect FATHER and he obviously saw you as the perfect DAUGHTER (in law). You were very blessed ~ thank you for a perfect tribute.
