Summertime

Yes summer is here and there is nothing quite as relaxing as sitting outside in the summers evening with a glass of something cooling by your side.

Cracker Jacks
Laura🌻 said:
Very nostalgic! My children couldn’t wait to open that crackerjack box to find their little surprise!
I think I was just as excited as they were!
Thank you for the sweet poem!

Be Kind to the Elderly
Michael Edwards said:
I do a lot for the elderly - mainly giving art sessions and visiting. But it goes both ways - I see the elderly who barge their way past others, never say thank you when you hold a door open for them etc. I am lucky - I still walk tall, I am active, I exercise regularly each day, I do a little modelling for adverts, do all my own decorating and gardening , take an interest in many activities, and I\'m a member of several committees mostly in local affairs. I also laugh when I hear people who are aged 60 and above as being elderly and in need of special sympathies and assistance. On the downside I tend to get unreasonably annoyed with older folk who drive slowly and hold up traffic - naughty I know. By the way I am 75 next birthday.
I did like the poem and recognise all the good intentions which I applaud but do feel it should be aimed more at the infirm rather than paint all older folk as being in need of special attention.

I disagree with our country being the best. I think Japan is doing pretty good. Though I do agree with not hating people because of the color of their skin. Humans are humans. Nice write.
