My comments on the poem \"Untitled” by H. Ray Davis
The mind is always an abyss, the more so as we age, for everyday brings its lot of trouble and bad experiences that linger in our head. However, the survival instinct tends to override everything in its path. Despair can drive us to the brink, but nine times out of then, our survival instinct will rescue us. This has been hardwired in all living creatures. Without this the species disappears. There are cases of people who had lost all four limbs but still struggle to survive. The real end comes when we lose all hope. The individual can spend a long time planning on suicide, but the moment that starts he will struggle to save his life.
“What are the 4 human instincts?
In evolutionary psychology, people often speak of the four Fs which are said to be the four basic and most primal drives (motivations or instincts) that animals (including humans) are evolutionarily adapted to have, follow, and achieve: fighting, fleeing, feeding and mating….”

“Fighting” aims at preserving the individual’s life or ensuring his survival at the expense of others.

I am.alwats fascinated by poets who wrote for loves they have never known.

The feelings in the poems are so strong. I don\'t think I have that power of imagination.

Thank you. I’m not sure what I do is really poetry. The old Romantics would keep a collection of love letters. Mine aren\'t to anyone. They were just thoughts that I felt when I was alone. LOL
