Eyes of Glass, Hearts of Stone

It takes a different kind of mind to understand ugliness, pain, destruction, to have eyes to see in the dark. Another difficult read that is highly emotional and that is the primary element in an artistic poem

We all have the capacity for good, and evil. Some take both to extremes. England seems to have their fare share.

This poem is a melding of the old and the new. Not only an old god and a new god but a more classical old form of poetry and a more modern form. I like the Latin ending to this piece

Wow! I think David that this is one of your most beautiful poems. It is loaded with great line after great line and has a beckoning yet haunting feeling to what seems a sciren song. In its cryptic lines a prophetic voice speaks. Simply lovely

SECLUSION
Poetic Licence said:

For me a minion i have found this quite a complex read about the difficulties forming and between relationships, and at any given time they can deliver hope or despair, maybe sometimes both. I am sure there is much more to this piece than i have so far worked out, and i will read again with a fresh head. Another really enjoyable head scratching read.

Bathed in metaphor this poem to me speaks of dualities and difficulty of union between people, relationships, hope and despair. It is cast in complexity just as the issues themselves are complex. This is a deep dive in murky water. Very nicely worded

Children suffer as the result of divorce. So many relationships breakdown and at the forefront the children should ALWAYS be put first. Their welfare is paramount and children need both parents, unless there has been abuse. This poem was haunting in its content. The child loses out because of a bitter mother. Sad write David.

A very haunting and touching poem highlighting making the little girl has not been told the truth, and also how much she would like to meet her father, lovely poem.

A powerful poem. The ending reminded me how much damage is inflicted on the victims of rape and abuse. A strong warning for the son.

A powerful and emotional piece of the horrific nature of rape, although she loves her son dearly she is always reminded of being raped. She is clearly telling her son you will not follow in your fathers footsteps

We have five senses they say but many feel there is a sixth. If deprived of one the others grow stronger. The sixth has no name but intuition is as good as any. Faith may be a part of it. It raises the hairs on the back of the neck and often tells us what way to go. A dark sense it is a guide in life and this poem speaks to this. Most sensitive and tender a wonderful work.

Emotive words David. Many years ago this happened to one of our friends and she had to give birth to a dead baby. There is nothing quite so sad as going to a babies funeral with the baby in a tiny coffin.
