Giving up the fight

You have hit upon an often neglected issue recognizing our past mistakes. The metaphor of the parrot was masterful and well crafted as well as poetic. The contrast of white at night was one thing, a parrot flighing at night is out of the normal and to be lost for a bird would only be understandable at night. It serves as a great symbol here. Returning to the past life and becoming content recognizing what one once had, Gratitude such a commonly neglected issue. Very nicely constructed with a good message.

Wow. This is awesome. Like by line loaded to effect in charmingly rhymed alternating couplets communicating a mouthful, the impact resonates beyond this page, so excellently rendered with superb imagery. Thank you so very much for sharing.

That was good stuff. Both the poem and what ever you smoked before you wrote it. Full of wild images that fell out like a drunk from a phone booth. Lovely

The first sentence is my favorite line. Powerful and unexpected but rings true. An unconventional look at the issue of God or no God and what follows psychologically. Very well done

Tribute to a part of us we often take for granted unil we loose it. Some powerful lines (a tool to pluck the eye when sorrow is past thought) great use of opposites (and build by its destruction) Very nicely done.

A differing rain however the variance of method, for myself a ‘poetic corroboree’ online in what could be deemed as a digital desert of sorts in some areas. Forgive the tangent, tracing a parallel of visualisation.

Written with care and feeling this fine poem brings me to the location. Some great lines are contained in this work of art. \"the place where love waits for its time\" \"The long walk from their dreaming\" \"They turn the logs for love is a burning whose warmth lies beneath\" Even the title is a great line. The rhyme pattern melts into this poem and is covered by the imagery and great lines. Although never having been there I feel that I have
