When In Rome

Pretty rough and honest commentary on our base nature. I have a few risque poems that I never really considered publishing on this site, but now..... maybe? We'll see. LOL! Pretty brave poem, Moony. Thanks for sharing.

When In Rome
BRIAN & ANGELA said:

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr TIGER - You are in a frisky mood today ! Well structured "free verse" poem on a very common theme "When in Rome" but not often versed ! The situations you describe are being between a soft place and a rock hard place just waiting for conjugation. Men are "ever ready" (the selfish gene ?) and as you say when an opportunity arises (sometimes quite by chance) many Men would be "In like Flynn". In some ways this is an amusing poem (the situations you describe are all too real) but it is also salutary and a bit chauvinist. Thanks for sharing it made me smile and think at the same time. THANKS FOR SHARING TIGER - A great tribute to our Service Men & Women many of whom die and are injured to make our Countries safe and sound. Prince Harry (UK) started the Invictus Games to honour wounded Veterans. The recent Invictus Games in Florida (USA) were a great success and I posted a poem to celebrate it. BRIAN

Naughty Baby
BRIAN & ANGELA said:

WOW TIGER - YOU sure are purring in this sensuous poem ! There is a lot of rhythm in this poem and a hint of half-rhyme to make it flow like silk. Your lover sounds like a very satisfying and a very very Naughty Baby ! Thanks for sharing - BRIAN

Golden Age
BRIAN & ANGELA said:

Thanks TIGER - In the Garden of Eden - Adam & Eve were innocent and enjoyed each other and walked and talked with GOD. Satan hates innocence and had to poke his nose in and spoil it all. My experience is that if I trust in God (and don't let Stan have his way with me) the "Innocence of Eden" (what you call "A Golden Age") can be restored for Me and my Partner ! Thanks for sharing - nice poem ! BRIAN

Thanks TIGER - nice piece of prose ! We do live in a very self centered "ME" society. The Good Book says "In all circumstances we should provide and care for others rather than ourselves." Thanks for sharing and caring ! Please check my poems - BRIAN

Just A Little Lower Than the Angels
BRIAN & ANGELA said:

Great poem MOON TIGER - a great challenge and a great truth. In both the OT and NT God says "We are made (just) a little lower than the Angels" and when we are in touch with GOD he can sure use us as His Human Angels on Earth. The problem is Evolution teaches "We are just a little higher than the Apes" and lots of people (especially Men) in the UK and the USA behave in a very ape-like manner (hope I'm not insulting the simians !) and in a very UNANGELIC way. Thanks for encouraging us all to be an ANGEL to somebody somewhere TODAY - BRIAN
