You couldn\'t be more on point. I\'m a big boy (85) who can\'t cry because I took those words to heart in my youth and they now live in my subconscious. I\'m sure that there are many others.

A most modern view indeed. Yes men have always cried on the inside but not until recently on the outside. Stereotypes Very British not to cry, Very Italian to cry. Loved the poem

Very touching, Tony. I never presume to know whether a poet is writing about themselves personally or if the muse is leading into unfamiliar territory, but what I always know when I read your poetry, my friend, is that you have a whole hell of a lot of empathy and character. I have read so many different poems from you on countless things, from unicorns and dragons to peace on earth and good will toward humans. I know that wherever this poem came from, it poured out of a caring heart...a heart I am personally thankful for. So, all of that to say, BRAVO! ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ‘ This poem is one of true remorse and true love. Letting go is the hardest thing love can ask of us. You expressed that so beautifully here. I could feel the pain...every word of it... BRAVO!

Your style neither eliminates facts nor fiction until reading you from day to day can leave my head spinning. Eloquent and beautifully rendered with excellent imagery, the bittersweet poignancy haunts like the darkest chocolate lingers in the mouth. Thank you for sharing.
