What Kind Of God
Louis Gibbs said:
What if, before coming back, we chose where in the spectrum of \"Good\" and \"Evil\", (The \"Light\" and the \"Dark\" ends of it,) it would serve our souls best to experience, express, and explore this time in our sequence of lifetimes? In other words, we were not powerless pawns at all, but participants in this grand scheme. That would answer your question ... it is indeed a wise god who designed this play.
A thought-provoking poem, JG!

Food for thought as we ponder that life long question of our own existence.

What\'s it like to wake up having never fallen asleep? Great poem JG. I often find these thoughts circling my brain.

In the sense of \'true knowledge\' I read recently \'In Christ are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge\'. So to discover them we can pray, commune with God (talk to Him), find what we need. Is how I see it.

Questioning the belief systems passed down to us would be a very productive start, I agree. Thought-provoking good write, JG!

Religion Is Philosophy

Great thoughts expressed in this fine piece, JG. I agree what you say about religion just being a philosophy ... a not well thought out one at that.

By definition, \"Truth\" assumes \'absolutes\' ... which don\'t exist. Your poem describes this well, collinsig!

Somehow I don\'t think \"singularity\" is all that close, unfortunately. To me it would indicate fulfillment as a species. Enjoy your work, \'c\'.

Good write as a poem. I have to believe in a Garden of Eden for the Bible to make sense to me. It explains God\'s creation, \'original sin\' etc, seemingly in story-like themes. But not a fantasy for me.

Simples! Nothing in me brain-box to start with! Look, there\'s a \'thought\' *light-bulb lights up*. heehee.
But seriously, we\'re beings made in the image and likeness of God, is how I see it. No spooky E.T. business or stuff like that. Well, \'receiving\' from a spiritual or heavenly realm maybe. I mean from God.

Of course it\'s easy for anyone to say \'A loving God exists\' when all is calm and cosy.
I heard a phrase from a church - bit strict one - The Lord intervened in that Mr X\'s wife broke her hip. Bit of a strange way to put it.
You see, I might think differently if I had a special needs child or something like that.Or to put it a bit flippantly - Dunno, I\'ve not been to heaven and back to ask Him!
