At my daughter's grave, thirty days
after her death:

Windy fall--
these are the scarlet flowers
she liked to pick.

Just came across "Windy fall" again and it still tugs at my heartstrings. Such simplicity yet so much emotion packed into each line. "These are the scarlet flowers she liked to pick"... Seriously, can anyone read this line without being moved? Certainly brings me back to my early teen years when I first discovered this heart-rending piece. Does anyone know if this is based on the author's person experience or is it just poetic fiction?
