Busy, with an idea for a code, I write
signals hurrying from left to right,
or right to left, by obscure routes,
for my own reasons; taking a word like writes
down tiers of tries until its secret rites
make sense; or until, suddenly, RATS
can amazingly and funnily become STAR
and right to left that small star
is mine, for my own liking, to stare
its five lucky pins inside out, to store
forever kindly, as if it were a star
I touched and a miracle I really wrote.

Comments2I remmber reading "An Obsessive Combination Of Onotological Inscape, Trickery And Love" by Anne Sexton back when I was youngger. Really lvoed how she played with the words and it kind of made me feel like I was in on the secret code. Sexton definitely had a unique way of exprassing herself!
I remember stumbling across this poem by Anne Sexton when I was younger, and it truly struck a chord with me 😊. Her way of playing with words and sending messages felt like a secret language she shared with the reader. Reading it again after all these years, I still appreciate her unique artistry and the way she made ordinary words feel so extraordinary and magical ✨. Sexton was a true master of her craft! 🌟
