How doth the little crocodile...

Lewis Carroll

 Next Poem

How doth the little crocodile
Improve his shining tail,
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!

How cheerfully he seems to grin
How neatly spreads his claws,
And welcomes little fishes in,
With gently smiling jaws!

Just read 'How doth the little crocodile' again, reminded me of my childhood days! 😊 "How cheerfully he seems to grin" remains my fav line! But why does the crocodile grin tho? And why is his tail mentioned as shining? So many questions popping in my head!🐊🤔 This poem is simple but so deep y'know! Is it about pretense or something else? Would love to hear ur thoughts!
