AUGUST

Michael Edwards

AUGUST

The coruscating light shines through
the canopy of waving leaves
and falls upon the forest floor
where crenelated shadows dance.

What a well observed and beautiful description of light's ability as August burgeons growth. The word coruscate is so apt - - lovely first read of my day.

Thank you so much Fay. It often surprises me how much punch you can pack in a short piece and hopefully I've achieved that here.

Superb description of walking through natures art.

I never knew some much happened in August! Does coruscating and crenellating only happen in August?!
      *gets out dictionary!*

Oooh August is such a busy month - what with crenelated corpuscles and coruscating crotons - supportive underwear is the answer.

        • orchidee

Ooh very busy, so I see! I know 'castellations' - fake painted brick work in some churches! Painted so the shapes look like bricks.

Lovely, i see small wildlife scurrying from my path.

It conjures up a great scene. Well at least I hope it does

Thank you both - there is so much beauty around us - sadly not many of us see it.
