CATZZZ.

Fay Slimm.

Catzzz.

Cats eat up affection straight from the cradle.
Whisker-faced wizards, they hate discipline
And set forth every day, being cleverly able
To become our jailors they by nature begin.
Yet like them we do.
With mournful miouws, implore eye to eye
When meeting no smile my kitty then noses
with intent at legs and will brook no denial
As by pupil-wide slyness she licks my toes.
Yet love them we do.
Designed to break hearts but still hold sway.
Furry dictators come in all shapes and sizes
Yet have what it takes to get their own way
And a quiet cat attitude is their best disguise.
Yet adore them we do.
Fraught with "me", favoured purrs rationed
Her whim reveals my kitty's thought pattern.
Yet prize them we do.

Oh i just love this. I can see so many of the lovely cats i have known in your words. They are the highest life forms on our planet i think. Which other beast commands love and respect from day one from us the supposed intelligent ones.
    Goes into my favourites.

    Lovely.

I am a lover of cats. Unlike dogs they are untamable. Thanks Fay. Loved this share.

I am not a cat lover (or should I say a cat owner lover) but recognise a great write nonetheless.

    My dear Fay,

A great write indeed...as Michael stated!
My daughter is the cat lover! Actually she lost two...Scherzo and Vespers...within three months! She’s totally devastated! She has another...Prince Harry...He’s a young one compared to the other two!

    “Furry dictators” with
    “a quiet cat attitude”!
    Lovely!

Enjoyed the read! I will forward your poem to my daughter. She’ll appreciate it!

Yes - lovely cats and dogs. A fine write Fay. Though for a time I was afraid of ANY dog. One barked at me when young, or something, and scared me.

Ooooo FAY ~ You know how much I adore CATZZZ ~ they are awesome and no two cats are the same. Like you ~ I LIKE them ~ I LOVE them ~ I ADORE them ~ I PRIZE them ~ unlike other ANIMALS they have a touch of the Divine which is why they can relate to Humans on the SAME Mental & Spiritual Level. My Family & Extended Family would never give a "DOG" house room but they all ADORE CATS and make their HOMES a Feline Kingdom ! Our Family Mantra is "HOME is where the CAT is" AMEN. Your poem highlights some of their many qualities ~ Undisciplined ~ Enchant & Entrap us ~ brook no denial ~ Break Hearts ~ Wilful ~ Whimsical etc etc. Love the picture "A Galaxy of Cats" Angela's Family have a DOG (who tolerates Me ~ just) My Mum's CAT loves Angela and she loves POLLY ! Angela has promised Me that when we are married and in our own House ~ we must have a CAT and she will never pester me to BUY her a PUPPY ~ that is TRUE LOVE ! Please check our new FUSION on a very topical subject ICE CREAM ! Yours as always BRIAN & ANGELA !

Good write but I always think that cats are arrogant creatures and as an ornithologist cats are a danger to birds; for every bird a raptor kills for food cats take four hundred to play with and kill.
