I WON ~ The Egg & Spoon race

When I was only FIVE

My MUM was there ~ my joy to share

The Proudest MUM alive !

All the other EGGS fell off

With such a clitter clattergee

But mine stayed on ~ I was NUMBER ONE

Because I had a stratergee !

I didn't cheat ~ my plan was neat

That magic day in JUNE (1989)

Took BRO's advice before the race

And just spat on me SPOON !

I won a Chocolate Medal

Which melted in the SUN

And a knitted Teddy Bear

Which said  N U M E R O  U N !

Is it GOD's retribution ?

For spittin' on me SPOON

I've never come in FIRST again

Perhaps I PEAKED TOO SOON ? !

Thanks for visiting ~ comments welcome ~ Love BRIAN XOX

I an still participating @ 35+ level but the GOLD MEDAL

still eludes me. Lots of SILVERS & BRONZES (and 4ths

and 5ths etc). I progressed through Sprints to the 1500

meters ~ middle distance and the odd Marnathon for the

YMCA !  It's worst in ONE JOB INTERVIEWS because there

are no silver medals ! I always do my very BEST and of

course I always play "By the Rules"  Love to all BRIAN XOX

This POEM is presented as a 4 4 4 4 4 SCORE POEM ~ OK

Score Poems have 20 lines divided into five neat quatrains.

The Rhyme pattern is  xaxa  xbxb  etc. Score Poems  are

often light and humorous. SCORE is Old English for TWENTY !
